There have been discussions as to the true value of Facebook beyond social networking. As an online student, FB has been more than just a way for me to post pictures, comments and be “social”. The groups feature have allowed the DEVCOMM (Development Communication) students to casually interact, share resources and even rant about their subjects beyond the confines of the other online UPOU medium called Moodle.
Most have been enjoying the the interactions that they are even convinced that the UPOU portal should shift from Moodle to Facebook. Although this is still a far option for the university, Facebook is ever evolving and I have no doubt that it would soon be used as an educational tool and an educational portal, much like Moodle.
This can be an interesting problem/topic for a research eh?
